Becoming a Part of Parnell’s Rich History

As Parnell plays host to multiple events for the Auckland Heritage Festival this month, many festival participants will, for the first time, see the exterior of One Saint Stephens, as it continues its progress toward completion. We have reflected on how One Saint Stephens has fast become the new landmark in this historic suburb.

The architects certainly had its prominent location front of mind when designing it and we are pleased to have received some really positive feedback on how it sits in the landscape.

One Saint Stephens benefits from being surrounded by historically significant landmarks, and we know many of our purchasers are looking forward to admiring them from their new home. The closest and most significant is, of course, the Holy Trinity Cathedral.

There is a lot to explore in and around the site of our nearest neighbour, more information on which can be found here.

A Nod to Tod

Inside One Saint Stephens we give our own nod to the rich history of Parnell by affectionately calling the entertaining amenity spaces ‘The Tod‘. You can read more on Robert Tod who gave Auckland’s oldest suburb its name, here.

This week, The Tod dining area had its impressive stone servery installed on-site. This sits adjacent to the ten-seater dining table, on order from Woodwrights, and in front of the walnut panelling concealing The Tod’s catering kitchen behind.

In The Tod bar, the dramatic ambitec plaster finish has been completed. The structure of the banquet seating can be seen below, on which the plush velvet seating will be constructed.

The Tod entertaining amenity spaces, along with the wellness area, will be able to be booked for exclusive use by the residents of One Saint Stephens. Outside of bookings, it will be available for all to take advantage of as an extension of their own living spaces.

With the benefit of The Tod’s dining, bar and lounge spaces we imagine many years ahead of memory making for One Saint Stephens owners’ personal history books.
